Storage keeps files; RAM is temporary workspace. Drawings are schematic, not a compatibility guide.
Start with your operating system’s storage and memory information and the manufacturer’s model specifications. You often do not need to open the computer. RAM is temporary working memory; an SSD stores files when powered off.
A 2.5-inch SATA SSD is a small rectangular drive. An M.2 SSD is a slim board; M.2 is a form factor, not a guarantee of NVMe. RAM modules are DIMMs or shorter SO-DIMMs; some devices have soldered RAM.
Do not buy by appearance alone. Check SATA/NVMe support, M.2 length, DDR generation and supported capacity. If opening is necessary, follow the manufacturer’s shutdown, battery-isolation and static precautions; ask qualified help if unsure.
